Speculative Fiction Market Lists:
The most well-known, professional, speculative fiction markets are perhaps  AnalogAsimov'sFantasy & Science Fiction,  and Realms of Fantasy  but there are many others, both on-line and in print. Fortunately, some dedicated people maintain web sites listing the multitude of markets available. After you've sent off your submission, check response times at  Submitting to the Black Hole.

  1. Ralan's Webstravaganza
    ralan.com is perhaps the most well known. This excellent site is maintained by Ralan Conley. Contains lists of professional, semi-professional, and "for the love", plus contest listings.

  5. Duotrope's Digest 
    Duotrope's Digest is a new database with over 1750 current markets for short fiction, poetry, and  novels/collections, including speculative fiction.

 

Markets for Teen Writers:
It may be easier to make your first sale to publication limited to teen writers. Many of the following markets will accept speculative fiction submissions.

Print magazines

  1. Apprentice Writer
    Print magazine publishes poems, stories, and personal essays and is limited to students from USA Middle Atlantic region and surrounding states

  2. Cicada
    Print magazine for readers ages 14-21. Open to all ages, but submissions from teen writers encouraged. Pays up to 25 cents/word!

  3. Claremont Review
    Print magazine for 13 - 19. Does not accept science fiction or fantasy.

  4. Potluck Children's Literary Magaine
    Print magazine for ages 8-16

  5. Speak Up
    Annual print literary journal for ages 13-19; not accepting submissions in 2005

  6. Teen Ink
    Monthly print magazine, website, and book series for ages 13-19

  7. Wet Ink: an Arts Magazine For and By Canadian Youth
